The EXR1602 Click-In Rooftop Tent Adapter Plates are an extra-heavy-duty, quick-release mounting solution engineered specifically for large and heavy 3–5 person rooftop tents. Like all EXR click-in systems, these plates bolt to the aluminum rails on the underside of the tent and allow the entire tent to click in and out of EXR click-in crossbars without tools.

EXR1602 plates are thicker and larger than standard adapter plates, providing increased load capacity and compatibility with tents that use standard or wider aluminum rail spans.

Universal Click-In Compatibility

EXR1602 plates engage the center square click-in holes on EXR click-in crossbars. Because these center holes are shared across all EXR click-in bars:

• No offset or special alignment is required
• Compatible with all EXR click-in crossbar lengths
• Ideal for mixed or multi-bar rack configurations

Each crossbar requires two adapter plates.

Selecting the Correct Quantity

• 4-Pack: Two crossbars (common on soft-top or no-top setups)
• 6-Pack: Three crossbars
• 8-Pack: Four crossbars (maximum load distribution)

Only the front and rear crossbars are bolted to the tent. Any middle crossbar plates remain unattached and function as structural weight-distribution supports when the tent is loaded.

Quick-Release Removal & the “Ready Position”

Removing the tent requires only pressing the four push pins on the bolted plates and lifting upward. The tent can be raised approximately 1 inch until the pins re-engage and rest on the crossbars, creating EXR’s Ready Position.

• Approximately 0.25 in of the plate remains interlocked
• Provides stable staging and precise alignment
• Ideal for lift assists or two-person removal

To reinstall, lower the tent vertically into the square holes, allow it to rest on the pins, then fully engage all four push pins. All pins must be fully seated and audible before travel.
